Reading the station. Every part is measured on all drawing dimensions as it passes the backlit capture zone — not a sample, and not only the three features an inspector checks by hand. Dimensions tagged CALIPER TODAY are those three. Vision repeatability is ±0.02 mm against a ±0.5 mm tolerance, a 25× guard band. Rejects are marked, not diverted: an air-actuated inkjet valve 165 mm downstream of the camera fires a UV-fluorescent dot on the failing part, and the verification lamp at the end of the belt makes it glow — no mechanical diverter, no conveyor rework. Silhouette measurement covers external 2D geometry only; thread pitch, bore depth, plating thickness, surface finish, hardness and material properties remain out of scope and need their own check. Built for the people who run the floor, not the IT department.
